The course is aimed at: Aspirant Ships Security Officers and designated ships security staff. Plus those who are moving into the Maritime Security Sector, or currently work as an independent contractor. Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSC). Privately contracted security personnel (PCASP) or employees of a PMSC. This course is a pre-requisite for those who are looking to gain their commercial endorsement. This course provides the security skills that most maritime security companies desire and is the essential foundation in use by current professional maritime security operators and those moving into maritime security (MARSEC).

Assessment is ongoing by the course instructor. There are also question and answer papers to successfully complete throughout the course duration.

Course notes:
The course follows the syllabus as laid down by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and MCA.Workbooks and Hand books are provided. You may wish to bring your own writing material to make additional notes.

Hot drinks will be available throughout the duration of the course.
The cost of meals or accommodation is not included within your course fee.

We assist in finding the overnight accommodation close to the training centre.

SSO and Anti-Piracy Package Course cost (excluding the firearms training) €1000.00 payable by bank transfers 2 weeks prior to course attendance or in person by cash.
Firearms Training add on fees €500.00

Skills, education and certification requirements in the maritime security employment
- Be over the age of 25
- A current passport with at least 8 months validity remaining
- Valid Seaman’s Card and Discharge Book
- SSO Certificate
- Recent firearms experience, martial art skills
- Medical check certificate - Yellow Fever Certificate - Criminal records check - The ability to speak, read and write in English - Basic IT literacy - Resume (C.V.)
